Bored at Work
So I'm bored at work right now. It is almost lunch time, and I don't have much to do until my meeting which is after lunch. So I decided to write a blog. I had a good weekend. Friday was my off day, and my Dad came into town for the weekend. We went up to this town called Central City, which is in the middle of the mountains and it is this little old western type town with casinos and stuff. It was a fun little trip, but we both lost money playing some 3 card poker. Then we went and took a tour of the Coors Brewery, and of course the best part was at the end when we got 3 glasses of free beer. I was really excited to find out that Coors makes Blue Moon and they had that as a sample at the end. We then headed to Laundry's Seafood House for dinner. ( No meat on friday's during lent for us Catholics) So we both had the jumbo shrimp platter, and it was gooooood!!! By the end of that we were beat from our long day, so back to my place to relax.
Saturday, we went to breakfeast and did some stuff to the car. We headed down town to the 16th St. Mall and had lunch at this cute place called Paramount Cafe. I had the BBQ Chix Salad and it was good. It had black beans and corn in it and it came with a southerwestern ranch dressing. Then we went to Nike Town, where I found this awesome pair of shoes. They are white with pink on the sides and a dark pink swoosh. I saw them and picked them up and they said $35, and I was like no way. And the ladie was like yea they are kids that is why they are cheap. So I asked the guy what the biggest pair of girls they came in and he said 6. So I tried them on and they fit, actually a little big. So I couldnt' pass them up for $35. Then it was off to church at the Cathedrale downtown, which was beautiful. And we had some dinner at Rock Bottom Brewery which is always the bomb. Then he flew out Sunday.
Sunday afternoon I headed across the street to the Holiday Inn where they were having a bridal bazzare. It didn't help me much because everyone there was local people, but they had some good food to try and a chocolate fountain to dip pretzels and cherry's in. And they had chocolate covered strawberries which were awesome. (We are going to have those at the wedding for all you chocolate lovers)
So that was my weekend. Good that took up a lot of time and it is now time for lunch.
Happy Birthday Jason Ellinger!!!!

Sounds like your weekend was really great! You always get to do and go places that are so different and fun. I wish I got out of the house more often.
Your post reminded me of the food we bought in Milwaukee...and the park tent/thing.......what was that called again? It was some kind of awesome bread!
